Seems like with the demand for speakers that are efficent the PLS-a at 94db would be great for SET guys. They were an 8ohm nominal load but do have a dip to 2ohms. This may drive some SET amp nuts. The PLS-a is big (130 lbs. each) and dynamic! The Phantom was a smaller speaker for a more intemate listening room.

The Kindle PLA A are still a very nice sounding speaker, even today. They are 94 db efficient, but not so tube friendly because they are a 4 ohm load, that dip down to 2 ohms. They have a very warm, laid back quality to them, more musical than detailed. Bass only goes down to 35 hz, but it is very powerful, and punchy. They will play very very loud.

Kindel Audio was a small speaker company from California, in the mid to late 80's. The tweeters are from Foster, an OEM Driver maker used by Klipsch and others, and the woofers look like they are from a company called Great American, who made a white poly driver back in the 80's. No one I know has DATS unfortunately.
