The way I allowed the guest to play (or record) audio through PulseAudio was by following this part of the Arch wiki guide.It's a bit of a hack because it makes you run QEMU processes as your user (if someone knows of a way to avoid this please teach me how to use PA), but other than that, you only have to add a couple of things to your machine's XML.
