Yes you would certainly get the sound from that DVI/RGB audio input by using a vga into the TV. I'm having a similar problem. I had an 8600GT DDR3, that I dualviewed with my LG HDTV. DVI>HDMI cable since the TV doesn't have DVI and the Card doesn't have HDMI. and a 3.5" cable for audio.
