I have recently found that Chrome doesn't play audio with Flash, it works with HTML5. I have researched into this and people say disable all but the latest flash plugin but I only have one, re-install Chrome and re-install sound drivers. None have worked apart from changing my sound from quadraphonic to stereo, it worked :).

Ubuntu 18.04LTS, I run the updates, restarted the computer and there is no sound/audio in the Chrome. Sound works in other applciations, system sounds works, in the Settings I can see Chrome as a application - sound is ON and it should work, but it doesn't.

But smplayer and deadbeef and probably other softwares work.And after using them to play a video or a piece of music,if I open a new tab containing flash, it works! It looks like running smplayer or deadbeef triggers something.
