How to find hardware/chipset name using terminal in Linux ...

011 = GL40. 100 = GS45. You should be able to see this with lspci -xxx -d 8086:2a40. But I doubt you’ll find a utility which would give you the name of the chipset using this information. In your case, the relevant line in the output of lspci -xxx is. e0: 09 00 0a 61 b1 6d 51 1f b9 e1 00 00 00 00 00 00. This needs to be read backwards; the 80 ...

I tried to use "lspci" "hwinfo" "lshw" "dmidecode" commands on my old Asus K50ij with linux mint, but the output does not provide precise enough information about northbridge. I found out that it's chipset is Intel® Mobilny GL40 Express +ICH9M on a Asus's website, but I would like to be able to find that only using the terminal, if that's ...

To find out what sound drivers are loaded, look for drivers containing snd and their dependencies (assuming your sound driver is part of the Alsa framework; most are): /sbin/lsmod | grep snd For example, my PC has an Intel sound chip, and amongst the dependencies of the snd module is the snd_hda_intel module, which is my chip's driver.. You can also ask the Alsa tools.

Show activity on this post. I'd like to be able to identify the chipset a particular USB device is using. I know about lsusb (and now /proc/bus/usb/devices), but they don't provide as much information as lspci. Here is an example of how I use lsusb: (laptop:/proc/bus/usb) # lsusb -v -d 050d:805c Bus 001 Device 008: ID 050d:805c Belkin ...

How can I discover which Realtek chipset I have?
https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=112984.0
This is frustrating. I've been through the device manager, system properties, audio properties, sound card properties, etc. All I can find is "Realtek High Definition audio". But no actual chip number/version. If this was my desktop, I'd just pop the cover off and look. But this is an HP 355 G2 laptop. I really don't want to open it up.

It's an Odense2-K motherboard and the computer was built by HP. The only thing HP's website says about the integrated audio is that it uses the ALC3863-CG codec. The only thing Speccy says about my audio is 'Realtek High Definition Audio'. I'm interested in what the chipset is.
