Emu 0404 USB at 96khz - LinuxMusicians

When I come to Linux, my card was set in 96khz, by windows, and pulse audio, or alsa works only when I set them to 96khz, otherwise the sound was harsh. The point is: The card must be in the same sample rate of the driver to work. The linux driver can't change the interface sample rate, so I must use the one that was set previously on windows.

When trying to run sessions on 96khz on my Linux setup I hear crackling sounds but when I use 48khz it’s fine. I even tested on my windows 10 setup abs 96khz sounds fine. Is there a setting I should know about to adjust. I believe it’s the same with jack and Alsa.

Linux and USB Audio Class 2 (UAC2) external ... - Arch Linux

Class 1 can send up to a maximum of 24- bit/96kHz hi-res files, but if you want to play those studio master quality files you’ll need to step up to Class 2. This supports up to 24 bit/192 kHz resolution files, for those seeking absolute audio perfection. I believe your DAC should be able to do this automatically depending in your input file.
