Recently I tried to open a 32 bit audio file in Logic 8 and Logic did not recognize the file. I would think Logic 8 would support 32 bit Floating Point when quicktime support it. Core Audio would normally be turned-on under normal circumstances when using M-Audio devices. Core Audio gives you access to all of Logic's built-in effects, and third-party AU plug-ins. I'd get pretty frequent core audio errors with 7.2.3 on my MBP, and it's one reason I stopped using Logic. But so far Logic 8 hasn't done this, and in all the many forums and the apple discussions I've been watching about Logic 8, I've only seen it mentioned once, so not too sure how common this is as you claim.
