I have been using the Delta1010lt for about 6 years now and it is the absolute best bang-for-the-buck card out there. In fact, I like it so much I just bought another one (you can link up to 3 together to get 24 channels). I use it for semi-professional home …

M-Audio Delta 1010LT by Doddethy Sound Quality Ease of use Features Bang for buck Overall: I used a single Delta 1010LT for years, and it seemed as loyal as a small dog. It has a good low latency for monitoring, many inputs so I could record a small drum kit with some pretty good results.

The 1010 LT works great with my Windows 98 / Samplitude 6.0 system. Aside from the noisy preamps, I love it...Totally! Features Midi works great, and midi timecode locks up my computer and Tascam 564 perfectly. Fun free synth software. Poor preamps make excellent talkback / scat vocal mike preamps. Ease of Use Intuitive. Warm, rich sound.

(Though, to be honest, I never use the 1010lt. It's just there.) It's rock solid and sounds great night after night. That rig is running Reaper on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system. I find it fits my needs perfectly. I don't bother with anything above 24-bit/48kHz, which it handles absolutely smoothly.

The dual xlr in on a 1010 are the mic pre amps, you dont want to go from a desk output into a mic preamp, that will most certainly clip with very little signal!
