If using the M-Audio Delta 44, make sure that the DMA Buffer Size on the Hardware Settings Tab of the Delta Control Panel is set correctly to 512 as shown in the Delta 44 Quick Start Guide. Some programs like MixW have been known to change this value to a much higher value like 2048.
