M-Audio Studiophile DSM1 - Sound on Sound

If the design team is the same one as created the M‑Audio EX66s, then the sonic result they've achieved is really quite different, especially at the high end, where the use of a soft‑dome tweeter rather than a metal diaphragm produces a significantly smoother sound.

As a matter of fact, the sound from these speakers is the best I've heard to date, and that includes my $1k Audeze LCD2 headphones. The built-in 24bit/192khz D/A converter does an amazing job with all audio except DTS audio. The DSM3s do not decode DTS audio. It's not a real problem for me though because I don't have many DTS only audio files.

User reviews: M-Audio DSM2 - Audiofanzine

    https://en.audiofanzine.com/active-monitor/m-audio/studiophile-series-dsm2/user_reviews/
The sound of the M-Audio Studiophile DSM2 is definitely better than the other monitors that I've used from M-Audio. They have a much fuller sound and cover the full frequency spectrum. They are definitely suitable for mixing in a home studio environment, although they certainly wouldn't be my first choice.
