-If so, try ASIOForAll which has a lower latency than the standard Windows driver. You can download it for free. In your DAW check also check the buffer size / sample rate settings in the audio configuration settings. I just bought the m-audio fast track pro as well and finally got it going last night. I'm using Audacity and I did install the ASIO files. I'm using Windows 7. When I went to record a bass track there's a lag and echo when I play. I later found the latency screen but it was greyed out, I couldn't move the slider.

I'm having trouble using the "M-AUDIO Fast Track Pro" USB audio interface to record with. I've tried to manually adjust the latency in the M-AUDIO Fast Track Pro Properties but the slider is locked at 256 and won't let me adjust the value.

Or go to Audio options and run it manually. Then in Audio options/ drivers make sure the M audio is the only device ticked. Also make sure ASIO mode is chosen. Sonar will automatically adjust the buffers and audio settings, I've never changed mine.

Latency for fast track is set to 256. Tried increasing, per djbeede's suggestion, but it is greyed out. If I quit pro tools (M-powered 8), i can change the latency, but it reverts back to 256 when I fire up pro tools. Anyone?
