You should also see the red "clip" light come on if you crank the gain all the way up and overload the mic. Make sure you try both mic inputs. Turning the mix knob to "IN" should allow you to hear the incoming mic signal off the FastTrackpro outputs. If this is not happening, then you propably have some bad hardware.
