3. On the m-audio website, when I tried to look for windows 8 drivers, it listed the keystation 49e as "class compatible". I take that to mean that there are no new drivers available and that the keyboard is supposed to plug-and-play. 4. I have the old windows 7 drivers and I've installed and uninstalled them a few times.

It is an input device only, intended to control or trigger a softsynth or hardware synth. Look under Tools-Options on the Record tab and it should show up as an input device.

Who can help me? I just bought a M-Audio Keystation 49e. I possde Windows XP-PRO. Automatic software installation via Windows OPERATING not so, I used installation provided by putting as update the software on the site CD. I also installed the program provided for sounds. Well, NOTHING, NADA, no sound from the PC !!! But the port is recognized.
