Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2009 This is a great unit for what it is. The recording quality is amazing with the right microphone (s) and the true 48 volt phantom power makes every microphone a viable option. Even the included t-mic sounded fair to good when recording in high resoulution (WAV / 24 / 44.1 or higher).

Summary We're glad that M-Audio hasn't had to compromise the MircoTrack II's functionality in order to get the price down. The rechargeable internal battery and combined USB/power supply system really help this product, and it would have been horrible to see them replaced by a battery bay and separate PSU.

More than a shadow of a noise! Sound of exceptional quality. This preamp M-Audio DMP-3, is a marvel of quality and the "obligatory passage" for successful recordings on the MicroTrack II, even when it is powered by mains. I've had two months to replace a MD with optical input (set the record from the table).
