Regarding my question: This thread came the closest so I'm bump-starting it again although it is a very old thread. I've been using a Dayton Audio EMM-6 mic with this USB preamp with TrueRTA v4.

m-audio mobilepre (cant find a driver) i have a m-audio mobile pre interface and a usb ilok key that im trying to connect to my laptop but the ilok cannot find a driver? does anyone know how do i go about fixing this? Help! I have a feedback loop using the M-Audio as the input and output device in Vista and could use some help getting rid of it. I went into the Mobile Pre control panel and muted everything but it's still there And boy was it LOUD when I discovered that I had the phantom power switch off on the M-Audio and turned it on - with the mic 8" above one of my Peerless drivers!

Received a M-Audio MobilePre USB audio interface for Christmas. Tried using condenser mics with phantom power on, audio was distorted but not clipped. Then I connected the mics to a mixer board and then to M-Audio so the mixer (a Soundcraft) supplied phantom power. Audio was OK but had occasional very low level noise.
