This is not a Mac Pro forum, this is a Mac mini forum. This is not a resolution to this issue for a Mac Pro. Both the Early & Late '09 Mac mini have two video ports; mini-DVI and mini-DisplayPort. That is basically DVI with an audio component running along with it. If you want your HD signal to go from your macbook to the TV and also have audio, I suggest that you use a DVI to HDMI converter for the video and then just an audio converter to transfer your analogue line-out (headphone jack) to analogue left and right cables.
