Hello Forum, New user to this forum, I have a problem, I have bought Mac Mini ( August,2010) for home use and recently bought LG -32LD450 - 32". I have connected my TV directly to Mac Mini using a 1.3X HDMI cable. I have video/ display - however no sound. All i can hear is sound from the Mac Mini's internal speaker.

The Sony BD player got that and decided, since the projector did not handle sound, it would not send audio over the HDMI output to the projector. We solved that problem by swapping out the Sony BD player for a Panasonic and it works fine. The problem with the Mac Mini is that it is not sending sound out through the HDMI cable.

I am inclined to agree, this fault only started after my Mac Mini running Yosemite became my audio server. I did experience a drop out when I was listening to music locally (MAC --> (via optical) DAC --> Headphone Amp). So this points me toward a locally issue on the Mac Mini, or rather Yosemite.

Likewise my own MacBook through the Mini DP or HDMI direct, no problem. I am disappointed now that I have put in an AppleTV to see the problem return. An un repeatable audio drop of 1 or 2 seconds every 20 or so minutes. I am planning to buy a 4x1 HDMI switcher with a TosLink out from Monoprice and to skip the TV for audio entirely.
