Although that c26 was listed at $250. I wouldn't be spending $250 on a McInotsh pre-amp take it home pug it in and call it done. Something as old as the C26 for that price will need work, upgrading, restoring and bringing back to spec with reliability. You would as others have already said spend as much if not more than $250 getting it sorted out.

I send in my units every 20 years whether they need it or not and have never had any problems with the McIntosh equipment. Certainly for amps if you want the exact same face look as the C26 then the MC 2505 or the MC2105 is the way to go. They have the glass and the knobs and chrome trim and all that is the same as the C26.
