The Meier Corda HA-2 is an exception, and at $649 even exceptional, simply because it doesn't do more than it should. The Meier is not my favorite dynamic amp, but the parts cost on my reference amp add up to the HA-2's retail cost. The Corda HA-2 is the headphone amp for the listener that believes dynamics, punch, and pace make music.

Contained in either a standard Black or Silver basic metal case, the front of the Corda Amp is finished with simple universal switches and a single volume knob. The Corda uses a two-position gain switch (a blue indicator light showing whether it is in the high gain position or not).

Second, most of the CORDA amplifiers have two headphone outputs with a different output impedance. The sonic character of a headphone does change with this impedance value. The official audio norm gives a value of 120 Ohm. However, most headphones (but not all!) sound better at a very low output impedance. With the CORDA amps, the listener may choose.
