The A500 were a passive loudspeaker. I believe the drive units were of the same or very similar size, but not identical to those in the M60. The A500 is also physically smaller. As far as I know they were the only passive loudspeaker Meridian has ever made. Their very first was an active design, and this was an exception. Regards
