I have been using onenote for the last 4 months to record lectures. I keep multiple audio files on one page. Yesterday I recorded 5 separate files in one page. It seems that every other file (audio files 2 and 4)will not play. The audio gauge and playback counts away, but there is on sound to go with it.

This is the fix: Control Panel > Sound > Recording > double click on your microphone > Levels. Lower the Microphone level. I lowered mine to 55. I recorded a conversation between my husband who was accross the room and me sitting right next to the Surface Pro and the recording was impeccable. I hope this works for you.
