The BX5 (£450/pr) has a rated bass response of 36hz at -3db. That's pretty good, and should work well for AV or Stereo. The BX6 (£585/pr) has a rated bass response of 34hz at -3db. That is still pretty good. But it is not down to just how low can you go. That is only one aspect. The other aspect is how much air are you moving.

I managed to get the centre and FX speakers discounted, but Monitor Audio only supply to authorised dealers and the price you pay at one will be roughly the same elsewhere. I paid £320 for the BX centre and FX speakers. I'm expecting to pay about £450 for the BX5 speakers and you'd be paying £585 for the BX6. Last edited: Oct 14, 2010.
