I found it opened the speakers up and improved the sound stage considerably. Bass response was markedly better. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the tendency towards (To my ear) a slightly bright treble. This was less noticable when the speakers were bi-amped. Just not quite as good as the PMC FB1. All in all a very nice speaker.

GR60's. Studio 20se's are fantastic two way speakers. What they do, they do amazingly well. GR60's are a much larger speaker with more drivers, etc. You can often find the GR60's used for around $2,500. You can often find Studio 20se's used for around $1,000. Not really fair to compare these two.

I had GR20s and found them a tad bright with the kit I had mind. Lovely gloss black finish and very well made speakers that need a bit of room behind them in my opinion, so space is also important. Some might say you're going overboard budget wise for these speakers with the current kit you have, unless they're a bargain. Hope this helps.

The soundstage impresses and the strings come across very nicely. MA GR20 The opening brushed drums have clarity and come across distinctly and Andreas voice is quite warming. The soundstage is a bit worrying as the voice is sometimes overpowered by all that is going on and it is difficult to pick out instruments in the last quarter of the song.
