As a kid, I built many amplifiers, with 4 or 5 or 6 stages gain, that oscillated because of VDD resistance (and impedance). You might be surprised to find that the source of your low frequency problem could be very low frequency amplitude variations in your ac mains. I can see this quite clearly on heavily filtered high voltage dc power supplies loaded right into resistors.

I've seen this referred to as "motor boating," and everything I've read says that it is always caused by a bad electrolytic cap in power supply. I just did a cap job though, and the amp is still doing it.
