Mupen64plus's audio popping (Windows 10) · Issue #571 ...
https://github.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-core/issues/571
It tries to keep the buffer size between 20ms and 300ms, so that if there is a hiccup, there should be a 20ms buffer that can keep playing, to try and avoid pops. Increasing that value may help, but it would also increase the audio delay (the audio plays slightly late). In mupen64plus-ae, audio stretching is used to try and avoid these issues.
