It only shows blue-tooth hands free playback. I have tried device manager reinstall repeatedly. I am looking for my Conexant high Def Smart audio 221. i have been able to reinstall only to have it disappear again. hp diagnostics say its installed and running fine. system check on C drive shows no errors. i believe this is a Windows update issue.

I have the same problem running vista RC1 x64, only with an HP dv5125us with amd 64, ATI radeon Xpress 200M, and 1 Gig RAM, also with conexant sound card. "No Audio Output Device is Installed" appears in the tray. I know this device is working because when I boot in WinXP it says Conexant AMC audio driver, and the sound works fine.
