Yes, In System Preferences/Sound/Output (when I plug in the headphones) it switches from Internal Speakers Built-in to Headphones But as mentioned, no sound comes out when using any of the headphones I try. The MacBook's internal speakers are working OK. This is really annoying because I reply on my headphone jack for audio output to several sources.
