After the export, I opened Encore CS6 and imported the MPEG video (.m2v) and WAV audio (.wav) files. I then created a new timeline and dropped these 2 files onto it. Some appear with audio, some not. If I make a new timeline and start with the *.mpg file that had no audio at first, then the situation is reversed. The ones that had audio don't anymore and vice versa. My conclusion is that the audio in these clips are somewhat different and there can be only one type of audio on one timeline/audiotrack.

Had a similar problem with Encore CS4 - solved by deleting all timelines in encore and reloading - it loses the sound if you add on to an existing timeline. It is easy to delete the timeline and restart a new one each time and this overcomes the problem for me.

There were no effects added on the timeline. Test 1: Create a project in Encore CS3. Use the sunset menu and delete all the buttons except "play all." Import the avi as a timeline. If its elementary (seperate), what type of file is it, wav? Has that file been added to the audio track in the timeline? If its program stream (audio and video in 1 file), is it DVD ready? "mpg" is an MPEG 1 format, which is not DVD ready. Good chance thats the problem. Encore is having trouble transcoding this already compressed file.
