1. Open the Menu. Go to Initial Setup, Input Settings, Output select. Set Output select to "fixed". If it is set to variable, the audio menus are greyed out. 2. Go to Audio Settings. Under the Treble, Bass etc settings is Auto Volume - set this to "off" I think the key is the setting in 1 above, although turning off auto volume also helped in our case.

Ensured NVIDIA Control Panel has SHARP HDMI as audio output. Plugged in HDMI through Motherboard, enabling on board audio/video to see if that would work (therefore ruling out issues to ensure targeting the GPU as the audio problem; still did not receive audio) In BIOS, changed HD Audio Output from SPDIS to HDMI.
