Hey guys. I've got my new Samsung mini DV hooked up to my PC (Win XP s/p 2) and I can control the camera and capture video with both VEgas (4) and Ulead Movie studio (bundle), but I can't get sound no matter how I try. First thing I'm wondering, does my firewire card need to have an audio cable attached to it?

What I did find out is that with 16 bit sound selected on the cam there is no sound transfer (firewire), but with 12 bit it works fine. The PV-DV910 also uses this system although I have been unable to determine why this should interfere with data transfer. ...
