I have a Windows 7 machine with XBMC Eden 11 installed. I have 3 methods of outputting sound: HDMI through HD 5800 graphics card Stereo Output through Realtek HD Audio Card USB Headphones None are working. I have a Red audio icon in the top right of my screen with a slash through it.

Don't know of this is an issue in the pc version of xbmc, but on my raspberry pi version there is a known issue with hdmi sound and the audio engine option. If the audio engine option is selected it, for some reason, makes the hdmi option disappear and you can only select analog and optical. Which for me gave me no sound at all.

Nope. HD audio/AudioEngine wasn't ready in time, so it got pushed back to v12. Unofficial builds containing test-versions of audio engine are sometimes posted on the XBMC forums, but are not officially supported.

I have set up Google Chrome to run from XBMC using the Advanced Launcher but am getting no sound (with Acer Revo 3600 using XBMCbuntu and Eden). I read a few guides previously about how to get the sound working using custom .asoundrc files but none gave me sound in XBMC and Chrome.
