In both 5270 and 5308, the drivers for my own SoundMax device hasn't been available from the Vista DVD. But it is available from Windows Update. Meaning you go to Device Manager, in the properties of the "unknown audio device" select "Update driver...", and then allow it to go online and search for updated software.

Could try going to device manager to see if High Definition Audio driver is working or not, if not see if it will update driver. will update driver. Or could check windows update see if it listing a driver for it in optional updates. Or failing that going to soundmax site and look for drivers for your audio card
