What I did that fixed this for me. Closed cubase. Turned my audio interface off. Disconnected and reconnected my audio interface usb cable. Turned my audio interface back on. Restarted my computer. Reopened cubase. Opened Devices > Device setup > VST Audio System. Reselected yamaha steinberg usb asio driver. Closed the device setup window.
