The audio jacks are the ubiquitous Switchcraft parts. I had to make a recess for these as well. I used the jack's switches to power the speaker when nothing was plugged in. The power jack is also switched with default power coming from 8 Lithium AAs in the bottom of the case.

No noticable defects on parts between ant & audio out. Need a can of Lucky Testing Potion. December 7, 2000. Project Complete! Continued troubleshooting from last night. It just didn't add up until I started moving it and the connections underneath were scratching against the instructions. Noise loud then soft.
