The only way I have managed to not get any lag, is with analog sound output (either using headphones, or plugging my PC directly to my AVR using an analog mini-jack/RCA cable). It therefore seems that I get ~100ms audio lag for any digital output. So there's a chance it's not related to the graphics card or HDMI specifically.

And my surround sound system shows 5.1 if I play with my Xbox 360, so the TV sends 5.1 sound that is comming from my 360 via hdmi to my sound system via optical cable / SPDIF and that is working.
