I did cover this earlier, to repeat: plug your HDMI cable from your PC directly into your TV/monitor, then run a separate optical cable from the motherboard to your Onkyo receiver -> video goes over HDMI, audio goes over S/PDIF. No stupid. That's no way to wire Optical or Coaxial or S/PDIF over HDMI.
