(I suspect there will be a few other things like this as more people build the nx-Amp - I will just update the doc as and when they come up.) With R34 and R35 set to 10k the TIS current is 28mA in simulation. However, I measured the values on my nx-Amp, and it is 43mA - quite a bit higher. There are two reasons for this 1.

2022-01-07 6:03 pm. #2,662. Heres is what I suggest you do (no load connected to the output) 1. Power up the amp. 2. set the lab PSU to 0V and connect it to the input (the amp is DC coupled) through a 10k resistor. 3. Adjust the lab PSU voltage up slowly while monitoring the output voltage of the amp. It should increase linearly with the input ...

The gain of the nx-Amp is 37x so with a little over 1V input, the amplifier output will swing to 40V peak, giving 100W RMS into 8 Ohms which was the design goal. Same logic applies in the sx-Amp which is powered off +-20 to 22 V rails - 1 volt input or thereabouts gives full output.

Bonsai, R6 is 1k (and this is the value I used when I got I=634mA) R20 is 2.2k (actually 2.19k) R21 is 1k (actually 0.997k) I checked Q11, it seems to be ok (without desoldering). 0.33 resistors are ok too (I saw in earlier posts they had to …
