I use Digital Performer and there is a setup to assign drives to a bunch of different functions. My guess is that PT does the same thing. In any case go to disk utility under applications and "repair disk permissions". That may fix it. You can also dbl check the mac hd by highlighting it with the mouse and hit command + I to get Info and make sure "you as the user whatever your account is has permission to read and write to the volume.
