The M-200’s also seemed to have a much higher sound floor because I had to boost my rears up to +10db and +9db respectively because the M-200’s were drowning them out. Now all of my speaker levels match, however, if I had to raise the levels any higher I would be out of luck because of the lack of flexibility the 1050 offers in that department.

Outlaw got the hint, and in January 2003 they started shipping the Model 200, a 200 watt monoblock amp. The Model 200's slim face (reminscent of a "pizza box" rack-mounted server due to it's 1U form factor) was the first to sport Outlaw's revised logo.

It responds 5 Hz to 800 Hz. It has a 4 ohm impedance, but does not require all that much power (100 watts or so), so something like the Outlaw 200, which is rated at 300 watts rms output into 4 ohms, will be quite suitable. The Outlaw 200 can be used to drive a Clark Synthesizer, but the ButtKicker requires more power, 400 watts to 1000 watts.

For this review, I listened to the Outlaw Audio M-200s connected to the BVAudio P-1 preamp (review forthcoming). Because the PA-1 is a balanced-only design, I was not able to test the M-200s in unbalanced mode. Amplifiers for comparison included my Audio Refinement Complete 50-watt integrated and the BVAudio PA-300 110-watt stereo amplifier.

The Outlaw Model 2200 is the replacement for the Model 200. The 2200 is a monoblock amplifier and has a rated output of 200 watts into an 8 ohm load, and 300 watts into a 4 ohm load. Of major note, the Model 2200 is a Class G-A/B amplifier. In a nutshell, this amp uses differing rails off of the power supply as output demand is increased.

Feb 11, 2020. #1. This is a review and detailed measurements of the Outlaw 2200 single-channel amplifier. It is on kind loan from a member. The 2200 costs US $399 plus shipping although I read that it goes on sale for less than that. I was surprised how svelte the 2200 is given its power capability: The diminutive size comes from "class G ...
