Prototype's audio bugs haven't been fixed as there'll be no patch forthcoming from Radical. Here's the fix. Radical Entertainment ceased to be a development studio in 2012. This game so buggy, I googled some and ended up making two guides for it. I hope this will help fellow PC gamers cut corners in finding the fix. Happy gaming!

If you set your sound card’s audio format to anything higher than 24 Bits, 48000 Hz,you may experience audio issues with Prototype. Note that this is not an in-game setting. This setting should be changed from your audio card’s control panel (Realtek HD Audio Manager, etc).
