Multiple devices can connect to it in multiple ways (toslink/spdif is one of them), server is mixing the signals and sends them to a DAC over toslink/spdif. I currently use two (!) AUREON 5.1 PCI, because it's either toslink in, or out, not both. I'm doing an hardware upgrade, and I'd really prefer to use a single PCIe card.
