Playing kingdom hearts on PCSX2 1.2.1 and getting random lag spikes during cut scenes. Started playing KH1 and set up the graphics, speedhacks, etc to have the best performance. If you're lagging every cutscene then thats an issue that i wouldn't know how to help you with besides saying "are you using X or Y speedhack" basic help. Though just to get your hopes up, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix always ran far better than 1 did on my low end PC.

Example, Kingdom Hearts 2 is a typical 512x448 PS2 game. Using a x2 internal will result into 1024x896 and will look inferior than using 1274x720 resolution on a 1280x720 display counting that both render 917.504 (a couple pixels less in my resolution, but no visual difference) pixels so it's equal performance yet the 1274x720 will look better.

Latest version of PCSX2 on the website (1.6 from installer), playing from ISO. I switched the audio sync to Async to fix the audio slowing down, as well as the video settings to support widescreen and auto fullscreen.

I tried Kingdom Hearts too and I'm pretty sure I got the same kind of lag. Also yeah, I turned the resolution down to native and the lag spurts didn't go away, so I'm really not sure whether performance is the issue here. I'm running the game of an ISO file.
