The Rotel actually appears to have a higher quality DAC, but the Peachtree's specs outperform it in every other measurable way. https://www.peachtreeaudio.com/nova300-amplifier-with-dac.html http://www.rotel.com/product/ra-1592

The Peachtree also has loop in / out to add a minidsp for room correction if required. But the rotel looks the most impressive. But never heard a rotel before, and most people online seem to believe that rotel have a thin sound. The parasound halo integrated is supposed to be the least powerful here at 160W.

I'm looking at either a Rotel A14 or PeachTree Nova 150 or 300 integrated amp. Opinions on the amp selection would be appreciated. As for speakers, does anybody have experience with the KEF R3 and R300? I've heard the R3 briefly and liked them. I'm wondering how much difference there is between the R3 and R300? Is the R3 worth the extra $600?

This Peachtree’s 6.4mm socket is even beefier on power than that found in the nova150. Peachtree themselves refer to the nova300’s as “high output”, the nova150’s as “standard output”. In real-world listening tests, we get ample SPLs, robust dynamics and tonal satisfaction from a pair of high-impedance (and fussy) Sennheiser HD800S.

They do not generate much heat and do not have many parts so the boxes are quite small. Most of the other amps are Class AB which means more parts and heat. Personally, I do not like the Class D sound.
