Yeah, Peel-N-Seal is probably not nearly as effective as most Car Audio geared deadeners. I mean testing showed that it really didn't do much at the resonance frequency, and not all that much on higher frequencies, though it did make a measurable difference. I've not used Peal-N-Seal, but I've used Quick Roof (similarly priced).

Posted July 23, 2005. OK, so I finally finished up sound proofing all of my doors and the rear hatch in 2 layers of generic dynamat extreme (peel n seal, etc). So now it's 95 out every day and the inside of the car just bakes. Well, since the install I have this funky smell in the car, like old moldy gym socks or something.

Peel& Seal is an asphalt based roofing product, and Dynamat is butyl based sound deadener. While they look a lot alike, they are not the same thing.
