I am not a fan of the DRS-8. I have a Vintech 473, A Designs Pacifica, API 3124, API A2D, Focusrite 428, Black Lion Auteur, a Sebatron 4000e and a DRS-8. The DRS-8 was sold to me as a new and improved Neve-like pre but all I see it being useful for is distortion, which I am almost never looking for from my preamps.

Phoenix Audio DRS-8 MK2. 5 out of 5, based on 1 Review. The DRS-8 is a wonderful intuitive beast with neutral warmth and clarity. It is truly amazing the range of drive one can get simply by playing with the input and output and listening. It is at least the equal of my UA 6108, and incredibly cheap per channel for such supreme quality.
