The Pioneer A300r precision amplifier sounds pretty wonderful with matching Precision CD player. Sounded ordinary with Marantz 63se and Sony 920e. Tried amps from Audiolab (pre-power) more slam but less music. Arcam 9 pre-power (no dynamics in comparison). Amp is future proof also through further Tom Evans upgrades.

The Pioneer rep offered us the Pioneer account, and if we had accepted, we would have undoubtedly sold a number of A400s - people came in and simply wanted to buy one - a great review in a Hi-fi magazine can cause that kind of demand.
