The PL519 integrated amplifier has both a source selector and stepped attenuator. A preamplifier is not required, although I used a passive remote preamp to fantastic effect. If you have high efficiency speakers, the performance is breathtaking. Extra tubes will be included, although they are readily available (and cheap).
