Called Polk. Told them the problem, and they sent me a thumbdrive with the 1.35 FW. This is the same firmware already on the unit, but I thought it might be worth a shot. Flashed the unit, the issues weren't fixed. Called Polk again, explained the problems up to that point, they sent me a UPS label to return the unit for replacement.

The display on my i-Sonic ES2 remains at its lowest brightness. I normally press the Snooze/Mute button to toggle between the different intensity, but that isn't working (though the Mute button still works for music). Tried unplugging the unit, all to no avail. I researched the user manual, but there's no mention of a reset.

The PolkAudio Isonic has indeed been a blessing and a curse. On the plus side the unit offers outstanding audio for its size and loads of features. And allows tone control to give you just the right sound for your ear. On the negative yes a consistent issue has been identified with early units.
