With my 28" stands, the LSi9's tweeters are pretty much at ear level (~35" off ground) when I sit on my couch. So measure the height of your ears when seated, subtract about 7.5", and you'll have your speaker stand height...give or take about 3/4" or so for spikes if needed.

Fortunately, Polk was able to send out a fourth pair immediately. The LSi9 is not a large speaker, and so is intended for stand-mounting. My usual choice in stands, the 24-inch Standdesigns, were too low for all but the center-channel, but a pair of 30-inch-high Sanus stands in the front put the speakers' tweeters almost exactly at ear level.

If polk just rework the Rti tweeter to sound less bright, they didn't need to invest in a vifa tweeter and end up with same sound and wider soundstage. But man, the mid is realllly nice. Modern Polk Audio speakers I've owned include the: RT-3, RT-7, RT-16, RT-1000p, RTi-A9, LSi-7, LSi-9, and LSi-15. I prefer the LSi's.
