impedance (ohms) is of the old Monitor 10 series 2 speakers? Its difficult for me to believe that the nominal impedence of these old speakers is less than 4 ohms. Thanks. "I own a Technics GX-505 (Pro Logic) which was hooked up to Polk Series 2 Monitor 10 (nominal <4 ohm impedance) in a surround sound configuration and it couldn't handle them!

I replaced my old BOSE monitor series with these Polk Audio Monitors 10. EXCELLENT Results. they are built solid, the sound is beautiful with great clarity, the power handling is superb . Monitor 10A either has peerless or SL-1000. Monitor 10B either has SL-1000 (bright brushed steel face) or silver dome SL-2000 tweeter. Not sure what 10C has. Monitor 10 series II has black dome SL-2500 tweeter. Here is my 10B's: Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk. Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

I do not know if the description for these speakers is accurate. This is a 2 way speaker, as most Polk Audio speakers are. It used a peerless tweeter as one driver and 2 woofers wired in series as the second driver. The third Element is a large passive radiator so it is not a driver at all.

Contrary to the info provided by misterdecibel, the 10's are rated at 6 ohms nominal and dip much lower (BTW, the 7's are 6 ohm as well and both have an efficiency rating of 89 dB). Therefore, if your power isn't rated to drive low ohm loads the 10's could very well sound cluttered playing loud rock.
